My name is Alexander Post (1988). I am a documentary filmmaker living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. My work is a way to get to know myself and the world around me. I pursue the spark of joy that excites us to change, the spark that reconnects us with our sense of wonder. Following the threads of my stories around the world, I have learned that a good story can bring people together and inspire us to dream a more beautiful world into being.

2010—2013 Research MA in Cultural Analysis, University of Amsterdam (with honours)

2006–2010 BA in Film Studies and Literature, University of Amsterdam
I started making short films and music videos with friends at an early age. During my undergraduate studies, I travelled to Nepal for three months to shoot my first documentary about the environmentally responsible fashion label Studio JUX. After returning to The Netherlands, I started a video production company with a good friend, who later founded Counter Creatives. This led to me working as an independent camera journalist for the Dutch broadcaster RTL. In two years, I shot and edited over a hundred corporate items in programmes about sustainability and corporate social responsibility. I also travelled to Peru to shoot a documentary about Dutch teenagers doing charity work at an orphanage in Lima. In 2013, I co-founded the cooperative communication agency Verdieping21. I directed a documentary about adolescents with mental disabilities for the GGD Amsterdam and I made several short films for the NCDO Foundation and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. With the cooperative, I also produced films with Polly Higgins about her work on an international law against ecocide and I set up a charitable foundation, Stop Ecocide.
Currently, I am working together with the Synergized Earth Network to realise a documentary about the next generation of leadership and I am finishing films about the natural learning community Embercombe in Devon, prana vinyasa yoga and sail-powered cargo shipping in Scotland.
I also host tea ceremonies in nature, practice vinyasa yoga and wholeheartedly enjoy the aesthetic qualities of everyday life.
